Fertility Testimonial:

Jessica, 29 Years Old

I was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome several months after my husband and I had been trying to conceive, unsuccessfully.  Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a condition in which a woman’s levels of the sex hormones estrogen and progesterone are out of balance. This leads to the growth of ovarian cysts (benign masses on the ovaries). PCOS can affect women’s menstrual cycle (irregular periods), fertility, cardiac function, and appearance.  A medical recommendation for PCOS is simply to lose weight, which is very hard for women with PCOS because weight gain is a symptom of PCOS.  On my own, I tried to eat healthy and exercise, I tried several different diets and workout programs but never really saw true success. I lost some weight, but my menstrual cycles were still irregular.  I was also never able to detect ovulation with the at- home ovulation kits.

Once I hit the year mark of unsuccessful fertility, I decided I needed professional help. However, I wanted to avoid taking fertility medication because I didn’t want to force my body to do something it wasn’t ready to do.  I spoke with Dr. Hoyle about my struggles and she said she could help me.  I have to admit I was leery at first.  The process seemed almost too simple to work.  Despite my doubt, I decided that it couldn’t hurt to try Dr. Hoyle’s recommendations.

I gave a sample of my blood and it was evaluated by Dr. Hoyle.  My results indicated PCOS, of course, but a lot of other issues were detected as well.  The report was so detailed.  It explained my health issues so well and also gave recommendations on how to fix these problems.  I learned so much about my overall health from the blood evaluation.  I was ready to begin treatment with Dr. Hoyle.

Dr. Hoyle gave clear recommendations that were easy to understand.  “Two months”, she said, “you give me two months of hard work and dedication and you will see a major change in your overall health”.  The treatment plan seemed slightly overwhelming at first, but soon I realized it was totally manageable.  I started feeling so much better within a week, I looked better too.

After a month, I experienced my first normal menstrual cycle.  This was a huge success because my menstrual cycle had been ranging from 45 to 60 days over the past year.  I hadn’t experienced a normal 30 day cycle since I quit taking birth control.  The second month, I tested positive for ovulation. In a year’s time, I had never tested positive for ovulation.  After the initial two months, I continued with Dr. Hoyle’s treatment plan and guidance, she advised and made changes throughout.  After four regular menstrual cycles and four months of ovulation detection; I received a POSITIVE pregnancy test.  To say I was overjoyed is an understatement.  I immediately told Dr. Hoyle and she advised me on how to maintain a healthy pregnancy.

When I became pregnant, my OBGYN immediately wanted to test my progesterone.  Women with PCOS usually have to take synthetic progesterone to maintain a healthy pregnancy.  Increasing my progesterone level is something Dr. Hoyle focused on with my plan.  Before I began working with her, my progesterone level was dangerously low.  When I became pregnant, I was nervous about my levels being too low, and in result I would miscarry.  I received the results back from my OBGYN.  My progesterone was perfect, it was actually better than what an average person would have, let alone a person with PCOS.  I was thrilled, no synthetic progesterone for me!

I am now 17 weeks along.  My pregnancy has been so healthy.  I am not even considered high risk,  according to my OBGYN.  I am so happy I began treatment with Dr. Hoyle.  I have no doubt in my mind that her treatment plan lead to my fertility success.  I still seek advice from her and take the supplements she recommends for a healthy pregnancy.  My OBGYN is indeed satisfied with how well I am doing.  We just found out that we are having a son, words can’t express how thankful I am to Dr. Hoyle.  She helped me achieve the greatest joy of my entire life!
